Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a Budget?

A: A spending plan that helps you reach your goals.

Q: How are you different from a financial advisor?
A: We focus on your short term financial goals and do an in depth analysis of your current spending, whereas a financial advisor will typically only touch upon these areas, but without much depth. A financial advisor can provide guidance in a variety of areas including investment management, insurance, tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, education planning, and more, which means they will most likely charge a premium for their services, or may not work with you at all if you don’t have much money to invest. Financial advisors are a great resource, and we work in conjunction with them when their guidance is needed. Our goal is to quickly put you in a position where you would require the services of a financial advisor.
Q: Are you going to tell me I can't have coffee / go shopping / have fun?
A: Absolutely not! We find ways to save you money that has little to no impact on your current lifestyle. We want you to spend your money on what is important to you and stop spending your money on what isn’t. We also help you allocate some of those savings toward your financial goals.
Q: Is my financial information safe?
A: Yes. We use an online software program that uses 128-bit encryption and physical security that banks use.
Q: How long will it take for me to pay off my debt?
A: This depends on your debt structure, income, and overall expenses. On average it takes 2-3 years, although some of our clients have done it in as little as 6 months.
Q: How much in savings can you find for me?

A: It depends on your situation and lifestyle.  Typical savings ranges from $2,000 – $6,000 per year.  Your individual situation is unique though, so your savings can be more or less depending on your individual circumstances.
